Cone Punching Multi Axis Machine Concept
grabcad
This conceptual machine alleviates manual indexing for punching cones... IT IS INCOMPLETE! This unit includes the structural frame by ilhan Şen ( servo - pres ). It is designed to punch a lance form pattern into a hydro-formed cone. Axis 1 (X) slides an arbor in and out of the punch zone. Axis 2 (Z) rotates the cone about the sliding arbor for rotational positioning. While seperatingg the part from the punch zone. Axis 3 (Y) is the hydraulic stroke up and down. Axis 4 (A) rotates the hydraulic punch head in a 360 degree belt drive rotation timing the punch and die for rotation (not finished as of rev none.). The servos will be programmed via Mastercam or Mach3. This should help us solve the problem of manually rotating and single punching these parts. Solving manual pinning and the operator interaction helps to keep part hands free and automation will increase production time. Utilizing timing belts for "auto-Indexing" ( the punch head rotation and die) NOT YET FINISHED! Any ideas and input is appreciated
