"The Daemon lied with every breath. It could not help itself but to dismay and deceive; to riddle and confuse. The more we conversed, the closer I drew to one singular, indisputable fact: I would gain no wisdom here. This Daemon's mind was a labyrinth of deception; the truth trapped at the heart of that mental maze and far beyond my mortal reach. I felt my very sanity slip away as he spoke; his words a poison of the mind and soul... yet I could not look away..." Lords of Change are the incredibly powerful and highly intelligent servants of the Architect of Fate. Exalted above of his minions, they carry out his most nefarious machinations from behind the scenes, and in the fields of battle. They constantly work to break the world and make it anew, enacting their master's multi-faceted, inconceivable plans. They seek and hoard any knowledge they come across, always looking to expand their master's great library with further understanding of the material universe. The visage of a Lord of Change resembles that of a bird of prey, with many comparing it to the Andean Condor (Vultur gryphus) of old Terra. Their bodies are feathered and avian, with scaled talons and long-clawed hands. Their massive wings are multi-hued and ever-shifting. There are so many colors they can depict, some often beyond mortal understanding. Above all else, the most haunting feature of a Lord of Change are it's eyes. Within their infinite depths lies the paradoxical wisdom of the Great Changer, and none can withstand the sustained scrutiny for long without losing their sanity. Their gaze does not only see flesh, but peers into the very soul of the individual. A mortal is read like a book; the Lord able to see his hopes, dreams, successes, and failures, all at once. Though they are the weakest in appearance and prefer to rely on their magic, Lords of Change should not be underestimated. Their lanky and frail appearance is a mere façade, as their talons rend flesh and crush bone with ease. It is a mistake that many challengers realize all too late. They are always seen carrying a large ornate Staff. It allows them to channel and focus their arcane talents for all manner of spells and sorcery. The sheer size of these ornate instruments allows them to double as a large spear if necessary. They may also choose to bear large daggers or swords on their person, as a weapon for defense or as a means of conducting necessary rituals.
