Concrete lamp
thingiverse
This is a mold created to produce a concrete lamp base for an IKEA glass vase. All credits for the design are owed to Glen at DIY Creators, who can be found on YouTube under https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kb9vXZfTYoA&t=0s&index=33&list=WL. If you follow the link provided, you will find the original instructions on how to create the lamp base, including steps for casting concrete. Since I possess a 3D-printer, I decided to develop a more high-tech version of the mold. The base portion was printed with support, but the other two components should be printable without any support. Once all three parts have been printed, they are assembled (see attached image), and duct tape is used to ensure that they stay together during the pouring of concrete. Unfortunately, the mold can only be utilized once as it is impossible to remove it from the concrete without breaking it. A lighter was used to heat up the plastic after the casting process had been completed, making it easy to remove. The mold fits the IKEA 602.233.28 vase snugly. Parts required: - IKEA vase (https://www.ikea.com/es/en/products/decoration/vases-bowls/cylinder-vase-clear-glass-art-60223328/?bvstate=pg:2/ct:r) - LED string from Amazon (http://amzn.to/2koQPfq) or Aliexpress - Concrete - A nice-looking branch
