Concept milling round logs for wood chalets
grabcad
A process called concept milling is employed for round logs in constructing wood chalets. The acceptable dimensions are a diameter of 160-350mm and a length of 6000mm, with cutting areas limited to a maximum 400mm diameter. Fir and spruce woods are suitable materials. A cutting speed of approximately 30m/s is recommended, along with tool speeds ranging from 3000-8000 rpm. Tools should be between 120-220mm in diameter. Feed rates vary between 6-150 m/min, and bus training occurs at 27rpm. Tool heights are set at 400mm/min, with cutting depths of 0.3-5mm. Surface finishes range from very fine (0.08mm) to semi-fine (coarse, 30μm-0.4mm), and the cutting thickness is 65mm.
