Van Raam specializes in producing unique bicycles catering to specific needs, such as tricycles, wheelchair bikes, tandem bikes, double rider bikes, and low step-through comfort bikes, with electric options available for each model. The company also manufactures bike frames, specialized frames, and the GoCab, a child-sized bicycle taxi. Established over four decades ago in Varsseveld, Netherlands, Van Raam employs 80 workers who produce Dutch quality bikes designed for adults and children with physical disabilities or those seeking additional stability while cycling. As an exam project, five students created a concept bike featuring a hinged front axle, options for driving without assistance, with motor assistance, on motor power alone, and in reverse; an 8-speed gearbox; comfortable seating; and a rotatable seat for easy access. The project was well-received by customers and Van Raam alike.
