Concealed Cabinet Hinge
thingiverse
This hinge was inspired by the design of the door hinge that the Ultimaker S3 uses on its door. Intended application is on the door for a 6mm thick clear Perspex/acrylic printer enclosure. Being see through the bolt holes should be easy to mark up. The wall part has two bearing seats. You'll need to press fit a 608x skateboard bearing into the inner top and inner bottom parts, A 100mm m8 all thread rod with 2 m8 lock nuts will them hold the door part in place. I will try a French door design and therefore print 4 pieces of both parts. The wall component will need to be attached to the inside edge of the cabinet/box. The door component will need to be attached to the front of the door. Some material will need to be removed from the door body. The hinge is therefore only semi-concealed as the material removal will make it visible. Intended application is a 3D printer enclosure where some ventilation gaps are desired anyway. Photos of the hinge in operation to be added after further testing. Still a work in progress. Edit: All versions now have filleted edges. One uses 16 M4 threads (bolts required). The other one uses 6 M6 bolts.
