Created an adapter that will mount a Computrainer Load Generator to a Kurt Kinetic Rock n Roll trainer frame. I figured that the original resistance generator uses a plastic piece to hold it in place, Making an adaptor with a 3D printer might work. Got my inspiration from https://greshfit.com/bike-fit-arsenal-rock-n-roll-spin-scan/ and I found a used Rock N Roll trainer on a local selling site for a great deal so I thought why not. Designed it so that I didn't need to cut anything on the frame in case I decide to sell it. This is for V1 of the Kinetic Rock N Roll Trainer frame. I don't have a V2 mounting is different, so I'm pretty sure this won't fit on it. I don't know how durable this is and I don't take any responsibility if you have any injuries form this. Just putting this out there if anyone has these items and want to do this. You need the following hardware to mount the Computrainer load generator: 1/4" x4" bolt , 2x washers and an nylon lock nut or acorn nut (to insert into the pin top part of the mount). 3/8" x 3" bolt, 2x washers and 3/8" nylon lock nut or acorn nut to hold the Computrainer mounting hardware to the adapter A piece of 3/4" width x 1/8" thick of Aluminum or Steel flat bar. This is for the tension knob to press against. Existing bolt and nut from the Rock N Roll that mounts the old resistance unit Computrainer load generator mounting hardware The pictures are the first one that I tested with a 50km Zwift ride. It held up really well. Felt really solid. I did need to do some modifications to the initial version that I used for the ride (wasn't too bad because I printed it at 100% infill). I incorporated the changes that I made into the 2nd version and uploaded. UPDATE 30NOV2020 V2 printed and installed. Pictures has been updated with the V2 print. Print Settings Printer Brand: Creality Printer: Ender 3 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.32 Infill: 100% Filament: Stronghero 3D PETG Black Notes: UPDATE 30NOV2020 First 4 pictures are of V2 print model and mounted. Installed without any modifications needed and had space to install the bike with space from the load generator. I printed this with a .6 nozzle and used it with 4 walls. To minimize supports, I printed it in the orientation as in the picture. Pictures are of the initial version and will update the pictures with the updated version with changes that I did to V1 with a hot knife. Category: Sport & Outdoors
