The cap can be printed in any material and without any supports, if it is flipped upside down.For the adapter use TPU. I used SainSmart TPU with 95A shore.I added a cable tie for extra security, but the friction should be strong enough even without.  Changes:2023-06-13: Added a notch to the adapter so that it better fits on the WS7040 fan and increased the thickness of the cap
