Compression Bearings
thingiverse
This design is meant to replace both the bearing and pillow blocks on my ANET-A8. I'm also using it on the X-Axis of my RepRap-8 (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2562389). The design includes both the bearing and the pillow block, offering several key features: * Adjustable tension for precise control * The ability to easily replace worn FDM printed bearings without disassembling the entire axis * A drop-in alternative for existing bearings/blocks * Compatibility with both X and Y axes (X-belt allowances have been made) * Optional use of printed bearings, or compatibility with existing LM8UU or INGUS bearings * The ability to easily try out new and exotic filaments as bearings Assembly requires only a single 3mm screw, 3mm lock-nut, a short length of 1.75mm filament, and four 4mm nuts. The screw serves both for tension adjustment and securing the upper and lower halves of the pillow block. The filament is used to create the hinge barrel. The design's best feature is its ease of replacement, allowing you to exchange your X carriage in just three screws. By the way, the photo with a pile of these bearings are the ones that failed during development. Cheers, -HD
