Compressed air turbine
myminifactory
I built a simple turbine for compressed air experiments. I've created two models; one is shown in the pictures. The axle is an 8mm metal rod I turned down from a 10mm diameter rod using a lathe. However, you can use any other type of 8mm rod as an alternative to the axle. For bearings, the turbine uses 608Z (diameter 22mm, hole 8mm and thickness 7mm) components. Please refer to the pictures for assembly instructions. This turbine works efficiently and runs quickly, but at 8 bar pressure, the air pushes the grease out of the bearings. It's essential that the housing is assembled tightly; otherwise, compressed air will leak everywhere.
