Compressed Air Powered 48mm Turbine and Gear Train
thingiverse
Here's a great project for someone who just wants to have fun and experiment, or even a fantastic father-child project. This compressed air powered turbine packs quite a punch. When you use a 5mm RC airplane propeller adapter, it will spin a 12-inch (305mm) propeller at nearly 5000 RPM. The turbine uses a gear ratio of 5.72:1 to multiply torque output and reduce speed. There are other parts required for this build. These include: * Qty 4 - 5x10x4mm bearings for the 5mm shaft * Qty 1 - 5mm x 35mm for the turbine shaft * Qty 1 - 5mm diameter 55mm output shaft * Qty 1 - locking 5mm collar Instructions and additional notes are found in the drawings. Safety glasses and a solid barrier are required when operating the turbine. A high-flow compressor is also necessary.
