"Compound Bow" Mod for Rubber-Band Bow and Arrow
thingiverse
To begin my first SketchUp project, I attempted to create a makeshift compound bow using the design from 'Rubber-Band Bow and Arrow by j_siegel'. The printable parts were easily affixed onto it, with some sanding for smooth pulley movement. Slide the pulley holders over the band knobs on the bow and arrow; krazy glue ensures they stay in place under tension. Position the pulleys centrally within their holes. Insert the pulley rod through the mount hole, slightly flaring the end for easy movement. Glue the band holder into the former filament guide's hole on the bow. Drill if necessary and sand down the clip to fit properly. Use thin elastic cord from an arts store as the band. Tie one end to a pulley mount knob, run it through the center holder, over other pulleys but not through the center holder again, and secure at the opposite pulley holder's knob. Insert the filament guide rod and slide piece. A crossbow modification is also in progress, which I will post soon.
