Compliant SMD Magazine Solder module

Compliant SMD Magazine Solder module

thingiverse

I printed compliant SMD magazines to store nickel strips and small components but I needed a spot to keep my solder roll. I found the perfect place - in another magazine. Print two halves of the magazine holder and glue them together. Then, pass your solder bar through the hole and drop it into place. Since I used ABS for printing, acetone worked as a suitable adhesive. For reference, my solder roll is 57.3mm tall, 56.7mm in diameter, with a 17.6mm hole. I designed this magazine holder with zero clearance since my printer can handle that. However, you may need to adjust the X and Y dimensions of the bar by 1% or 2% - or whatever suits your printer's capabilities. I didn't spend too much time on this design but it still works fine. Feel free to improve upon it!
