Construct a standalone D-pad for your control project using 6mm tactile switches. Design it in OpenSCAD to ensure support-free printing. Flip certain parts, like the wheel, for optimal print results. If you prefer a joystick, replace the buttons with your chosen controller head (you might need to adjust the bezel). Affix tac switches onto rest.stl and attach it to securingring.stl using the four posts/sockets. Assemble the d-pad by gluing wheel.stl, unioncross.stl, and buttons.stl together. Cut a hole in your controller face matching bezel.stl's outer tube diameter. Insert the d-pad into the rest+securingring part, then attach this assembly to the controller face using the bezel for a secure grip.
