Last revision: 2019/10/07. Uploading V3 for top body with enhanced OpenSCAD code. This resolves previous mesh errors in exported .stl files, allowing correct slicing with Prusa Slicer 2.1. ---------------------------------------------- 2019/06/18. V2.3 uploaded. Adding an OpenSCAD version of the lower frame and a landing gear design, meant to be screwed under four motors. Eight M2 x 6mm screws (Allen head) are required; see pictures for reference. For more information, open the OpenSCAD source files using OpenSCAD or a plain text editor. Everything is thoroughly documented: an introductory text, sample configurations, and numerous comments explaining user-editable parameters and code. The .scad file for the top body now includes an introduction, along with minor changes in the code to improve weak spots in the frame. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2019/04/01, V2.2 uploaded - I have revised the design for prop guard reinforcements. Please do not use the initial version (2019-03-26) as it did not work well, reducing motors' thrust too much. It appears that the horizontal layer of first version's reinforcements acted as an obstacle to vertical air flow. The new version places reinforcements in the external wall of hexagonal prop guards, with a shape designed for better aerodynamics. The reinforcements add approximately 3.2 grams to the frame's weight. If you also increase the maximum guard height from 9mm to 12 mm, you can expect a total weight increase of 4.6g compared to TinyTina's stock upper frame. You can use the OpenSCAD file to modify reinforcement dimensions or completely disable them, returning to TinyTina's original design. You can also tweak other parts of the design for your needs. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Old summary: I have coded it from scratch in OpenSCAD, closely reproducing all shapes and sizes of the original .stl file shared by Jan Olejnik: https://www.prusaprinters.org/how-to-build-a-3d-printed-micro-drone/ https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3249126 Jan's design is excellent, but when printed in PETG, propeller guards are so flexible that they do not completely prevent impacts with the propellers. I have added a horizontal prop guard reinforcement to make it much stiffer, adding only a couple of grams to the frame's weight. You can see in an attached picture how the original frame flexes significantly more than the reinforced one. Using the .scad file, you can adjust the propeller guards and other parameters to suit your needs or completely skip the prop guards to save weight and printing time.
