The Compass Brick from Grove Excavations at James Madison's Montpelier is a historic relic that tells the story of our nation's early days. It was carefully extracted from its resting place at James Madison's iconic estate, where archaeologists had unearthed it during excavations in the Grove area. On June 15, 2018, this artifact underwent an incredible transformation as it was scanned using a state-of-the-art Go!Scan 50 device. As a result of this advanced technology, we now have a highly detailed digital model of the compass brick that can be studied and appreciated by people all over the world.
