comparator holder for Creality Sermoon D1 With this accessory, which runs on two ball bearings (3 mm balls, preferably in derlin / POM / Torlon), a standard dial gauge (8 mm rod) can be mounted on the extruder sliding shafts. In this way, in addition to leveling the screws with the precision of a hundredth of a mm (my printer arrived, as well as with the usual broken z axis microswitch, with the screws definitely not registered +/- 3.8 mm of difference ), it is possible to evaluate whether the printing plate is sufficiently flat. I don't know if it is common but the surface of my printer is concave (center at minus 11 cents respect to zero) and knowing this data can allow you to bring it flat. In fact it was enough to remove the plate and insert a small piece of brass sheet of 10 cents of mm in the center. I noticed that this printer, unlike the Anycubic i3Ms, needs a careful adjustment of the hardware before devoting itself to programming print profiles for the different materials (which is really difficult, perhaps because the direct extruder they have adopted is completely new and with several small defects). The comparator holder has been molded in PETG and designed so that it does not flex (a pity that the sliding shafts of the extruder flex a lot!). I can say that after the adjustments made with the help of the comparator the quality of the prints, for the same profile, has really improved.
