Compaq Portable ISA card retainer
thingiverse
The Compaq Portable's design is somewhat limited when it comes to securing expansion cards, as it only offers a couple of standard slots with holes for ISA metal brackets to screw into the chassis. Additionally, there's another screw hole located above the standard one that some cards utilize. While installing a network card, XT-IDE, and AdLib in my Compaq Portable, I encountered the need for a more secure solution to prevent expansion cards from popping out when accessed from the rear of the machine. Initially, I employed old 20mm calibration cubes as a makeshift solution. However, I eventually decided to create this wedge design to address the issue, as I required additional units. To fabricate these wedges, simply print as many as you need and position them over the metal bracket. Next, use a small drill to make a pilot hole in the wedge from the back of the case. Finally, secure the wedge in place using regular case screws.
