My vintage Compaq Portable lacked a drive lever, so I created an exact replica that works flawlessly with the genuine article. The homemade lever also functions perfectly with several other 5.25-inch drives, making it a versatile solution. To secure the lever in place, a small piece of thin steel measuring 4mm x 18mm is inserted into the slot and locked onto the drive's shaft.
