Companion Cube Enclosure Parts
thingiverse
This set of Parts is designed to create an enclosure for a 3D Printer that will fit snugly over the edges of 1/8" thick plexiglass/acrylic sheets. Sixteen 3/32" x 3/8" disc magnets securely hold the door in place, while sixteen 16" x 16" panels make up the sides. I've added "seals" that slide between the corners and edges to create an even tighter seal, which will need to be glued onto the door for a complete seal. To begin assembling: Print four of each part except for the regular "edge" and the "seals". Eight of the standard edges and twenty-four seals should be printed in total. Insert a magnet into each recessed hole on the parts, carefully aligning the polarities to ensure that the door is held firmly in place. The pieces are then fitted onto the edges and corners of the bottom plexi sheet, with the seals held in place by their respective corners. A piece of plexi is then slid into the sides and back of the Bottom assembly. Slides a seal, an edge, and another seal between the back and each side, carefully aligning them as you go. Assemble the top part last, before sliding it onto the larger assembly. Secure the parts to the final piece of plexi with glue or strong double-sided tape, allowing the magnets to hold the door in place.
