Compact U-Tube Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger

This model is similar to the Enerquip sanitary Compact Heat Exchangers used in industry for applications that require sanitary process equipment (i.e. food and beverage, pharmaceutical, and dairy industries). Such heat exchangers are composed of stainless steel components that serve to resist corrosion and fouling and are manufactured to be easily disassembled and cleaned.I made this model as a way to continue learning while I search for engineering jobs. My goal is to use this design to develop working knowledge of the Computational Fluid Dynamics domain to simulate the flow conditions experienced by this type of heat exchanger and use active and passive heat transfer augmentation techniques to increase heat transfer of the working fluid and optimize the design further. I wanted to share this for those interested in making their own designs or who like me are fascinated by fluid mechanics and heat transfer and want to get better at analyzing thermo-fluid systems.
