Compact Survival Whistle

I wanted to model and print a compact, rugged, and loud whistle for emergency survival or rescue use. I was particularly interested in a whistle that could be taken SCUBA diving and then used for signaling a watercraft on the surface.This whistle is:Compact – At only 50x25x6 cm (about 2x1x0.25 in), it may be easily carried in a pocket or pack or secured with a lanyard using the integrated loop.Rugged – Its thin profile and integrated internal supports make it fairly crush resistant, even when printed with PLA.Loud – I measured the output at 110+ dB.It also can be printed quite quickly and inexpensively. I printed it with the largest (top) face down without supports. To increase strength and prevent cracking at the higher pressures associated with diving, I used 100% infill.The design is inspired by a popular commercially-available survival whistle intended for marine use.
