I found this model some time ago and kept it in mind as an idea. 1 week ago I received from a broken garden solar lamp a 1 Watt panel (80mm x 120mm x 3mm). I used the model from dkennell as a template and adapted to my parts.

Can be powered by sun or 5V USB or 5V DC.

Output 5V and 500mA.

Used parts:

Adafruit USB DC Solar Lithium Ion Polymer charger V2

Lithium-Ion Polymer Batterie 3,7V 2500mAh

USB DC-DC 0,9--5V to 5V Step-Up Power Supply Converter

3 white LED´s (15000mcd)

1x 10ohm resistor for the led´s

one small and one big switch

optional Toslink cable for the indicator led´s

4x M3x 15mm screws

MANY hotglue ^^

AND some sun

Print Settings

Printer:

i3 Prusa

Rafts:

Yes

Supports:

Yes

Resolution:

0.2

Infill:

20%

Post-Printing

A few openings had to be filed. Thread was cut into the 4 holes of the bottom part. Bolt together with 4 screws M3x 15mm

I fix the components with hotglue and I used an old Toslink cable (fibre optic) to extend the original status LED´s to the "edges".

The small switch next to the large switch for the LED's is for the current output, since otherwise there is a permanent current and the status LED lights up.

Category: Electronics
