Compact RAMPS & single MOSFET mount for Anet A8
thingiverse
A sleek, low-profile mount for a RAMPS controller and an optional single MOSFET board specifically designed for the stock Anet A8. This design caters to those who prefer an openwork yet compact and discreet PCB mount, as opposed to a cabinet or box or adapters for the original standoffs, that is quick to print and uses relatively little material, while still protecting the electronics from harm. A RAMPS board with large stepper heatsinks and fan protrudes significantly farther from the A8 frame than the stock PCB (even more if one uses the stock standoffs in conjunction with a MOSFET holder designed to fit around the original board), making the entire electronics package quite exposed and vulnerable, as well as uncomfortably close to fouling the X-axis stepper mounting during its up-and-down traversal. This mounting is specifically designed to keep the RAMPS assembly and one MOSFET board closer to the frame, and further beneath the range of Z movement, thereby encasing and protecting them as much as possible. Please note that the orientation and position of the boards still allow access to the reset button and USB port (as long as one is careful about cable routing), but perhaps not quite as easily as some other mounting arrangements. The relative positioning of component mountings enables the use of RAMPS fan extender modules and the LCD extender module. The cooling fan mount in the photographs is not included, but can be found at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:145946
