Compact MendelMax Y-Rod Holders
thingiverse
The Y-rod holder is inspired by ziptie-less LM8UU holders designed for MendelMax printers and compatible with Aluminum Extrusions. In contrast to MendelMax v1's Y-rod holders, which spanned two extrusions, v1.5 features a lasercut piece attached to the center of one extrusion. The designer preferred this design but wanted more flexibility in the length of y-rods and a 3D printable version due to restrictions on using wood in their designs. Created using Blender, the .blend file is available for download. To assemble, use two holders per printer and M5x16mm screws instead of standard M5x10mm screws with 10 mm thick holders. For optimal rigidity, print at 80% infill to ensure strong, high-resolution prints.
