This compact low friction spool holder is designed for use with my Ultimaker2 Rail System, which can be found at https://www.youmagine.com/designs/ultimaker2-rail-system-u2rs. It's a modification of Roberts' well-known Low Friction Spool Holder, available at http://www.youmagine.com/designs/882. The component "608_core2" remains unchanged. I made this design because it seemed like an odd choice, but I based it on 608 bearings (M8) and a long M6 hexnut due to the materials I had available. I opted against using a M8 bolt for weight savings. To accommodate users with different bearing dimensions, I included the DSM file. One of the end holders will span over the head of the M6 hexnut entirely, allowing two spool holders to be mounted close together on the rail system (two spools per bracket). The 50mm spool adapter is designed for use with UM and ColorFabb spools; using the DSM file, users can easily modify it to any size they require. This component could also serve as a foundation for creating a "loose filament adapter," which I may develop later if needed.
