Compact Direct Drive MK8 Bowden Extruder for 1.75mm Filament
cults3d
This is a remix of scarou's compact bowden extruder. I liked the design, but there are some tweaks that I wanted to make for use with a new delta printer I'm designing. This was a ground-up redesign of this extruder, so all STEP files are now included for those who want to modify the design further. As always, any and all feedback is encouraged and appreciated. Difference from original design: - Added extension levers to the idler arms for relieving pressure on filament during loading - Uses nylon lock-nuts instead of standard nuts - Accommodates 4mm mounting hardware - Removed support structures that were too thin for printing with 0.4mm and larger nozzles - Changed the length of the tension bolts and recommended springs. Parts required: - (4) M3x8mm screws - (1) M3x16mm screw - (2) M3x50mm screws/bolts - (3) M3 nylon lock-nuts - (4) M3 washers - (4) M4 washers - (1) M5x16 socket head bolt - (1) 608ZZ bearing - (1) 625ZZ bearing - (1) MK8 hobbed pulley (Tri-D printing or similar) - (2) Springs Recommend Ultibots wades idler spring (same as McMaster #9657K287) Parts to print: - (1) Extruder Body - (1) Inner Idler - (1) Outer Idler Special tools required: - M5x0.8 tap
