Compact Direct Drive MK8 Bowden Extruder for 1.75mm Filament
thingiverse
This is a comprehensive update of scarou's compact bowden extruder, carefully crafted to perfectly suit the requirements of my brand-new delta printer design project. Although I loved the original concept, I saw room for improvement in various aspects and implemented significant tweaks accordingly. The key differences between this updated model and the original one are numerous, allowing users with varying printing requirements to appreciate a more customized experience: Extended lever additions on the idler arms greatly reduce pressure exerted on filament during initial loading, preventing jams and ensuring smooth operations from the very start. Standard M3 lock-nuts have been substituted for nylon variants for increased reliability. 4mm mounting hardware compatibility has also been introduced to expand user flexibility. The extruder has been fine-tuned by eliminating thinner support structures prone to deformation with 0.4mm and larger nozzle usage, providing added robustness and structural integrity during printing processes. Modification of the tension bolt length, accompanied by adjusted spring recommendations, enhance overall system durability, accuracy, and stress management in prolonged print operations. Components required for assembly are carefully listed below: - Four (4) M3x8mm screws - One (1) M3x16mm screw - Two (2) 50mm long, or adjustable bolts to accommodate a spring. - Three (3) M3 nylon lock-nuts for the adjustment. - Four (4) standard M3 washer and M5 locknuts.
