Compact Dart Launcher

Compact Dart Launcher

The objective of this undertaking was to create a compact and portable dart-launching mechanism that would serve as the foundation for a parlor pistol in the future. As always, my goal is to minimize rafting and support. There are three types of triggers to select from, each with its own unique characteristics. Here's a brief overview: V1: The original trigger design, most compact but challenging to use. Photo 2 showcases this model. V1F: This trigger variant offers the greatest accuracy, although it is bulkier than the others. It is highly recommended! Photo 3 demonstrates its features. V1G: The latest and most improved trigger design, combining the best of both worlds. My personal favorite is featured in the cover photo. You can observe a demonstration of this mechanism here: http://youtu.be/l3LeLbWkE0o I have successfully printed this model, and the range is quite impressive. I estimate it to be around 40 feet. However, I am unsure of the exact FPS, but the gun's potential for causing eye damage is undeniable. Therefore, I strongly advise wearing eye protection. The front sight is not at the correct height, and the rear sight will be added if I have the time; consequently, the gun tends to shoot low when using the current sight. The trigger mechanism operates differently from traditional designs. Instead of pulling the trigger back, you must push your finger forward to fire the gun. The V1F trigger is a forward-trigger design that is easier to use but compromises on compactness. Unfortunately, this variant is not pictured. To load the gun, simply pull the bolt back, hold it in place, and then push the trigger upwards towards the receiver. Next, insert a projectile, and fire as instructed above. The version depicted here is the V1 release. Parts List: * Receiver * Grip * Trigger (V1 or V1F) * Bolt * Darts (Pack of 4) * Hardware (all available from McMaster-Carr): 2 x M3 Nuts (http://www.mcmaster.com/#90685A037) 1 x M3 50mm Screw (http://www.mcmaster.com/#91290A137) 1 x M3 20mm Screw (http://www.mcmaster.com/#91290A123) 1 x #9657K331 Steel Compression Spring (http://www.mcmaster.com/#9657K331) Please refer to the assembly instructions for more detailed information. Caution: * Not intended for use on people. Aimed at the face can cause permanent vision loss. * Do not use as a self-defense device. Use only as a toy. Simplification: The bolt could be eliminated, but it will eventually hold the firing pin in the parlor pistol design, so it remains included. Moreover, more than just my darts can be used, as the catch lies within the bolt itself. Change List: v1: Initial release
