Compact Bowden Extruder, direct drive 1.75mm for Tevo Tarantula
thingiverse
A direct drive bowden extruder designed for 1.75mm filament, paired with a MK8 style hobbed pulley, is mirrored for compatibility with the Tevo Tarantula printer. Post-Printing Instructions Drill the base plate with a 2mm drill to clear the filament path. Use an M5 (or M6 if using the stock screw) tap to cut threads on the push-fit bowden connector and bearing holder of the idler. Attach the push-fit bowden connectors securely to the base plate. Mount the 608zz bearing to the idler, securing it with a M5 washer and a M5x10mm allen head screw. For the alternative idler, insert the bearing between its parts and fasten with a M5x14mm allen head screw. Fasten the NEMA17-Motor with three M3x8mm allen head screws using countersunk holes. Attach the idler to the base plate with a M3x16mm allen head screw. Avoid applying too much tension, allowing for smooth idler movement. Secure the hobbed pulley onto the NEMA17 stepper motor shaft and adjust its height accordingly. Insert filament into the extruder. Place an M3 nut into the base plate slot. Use a suitable length M3 allen head screw with washers and a spring to apply pressure on the filament. Enjoy happy extruding.
