[26-Feb-18] Added Main Body source file for customization. [22-Nov-17] Added a smaller 4020 Fan mount to reduce overall footprint significantly. [16-Oct-17] Trimmed the rivet pin to 20mm measuring from cap to tip, updated pics, and re-designed Servo mount Set V.2 uploaded, Y offset reduced, screw mounted micro-switch installed. [10-Oct-17] Firmware info added for user convenience. [7-Oct-17] An updated version of probe mount was uploaded, this allows printing without support material. I apologize for the initial mistake. Some users may have larger rivet caps that cannot fit in the original probe mount. A simple solution is to attach the mandrel to an electric drill and use a file to trim the cap to the correct size while running the drill. This method can also be used to polish the tip. ================================ This remix is based on a compact fan mount designed for the E3D V6 or clones. The goal was to create a mount that fits in tight spaces, is lightweight, has a z-probe, and is affordable. After reviewing various designs with different types of probes, I decided to build one using parts I owned or could salvage from my used materials. Here is the BOM list: - All printed parts - 30mm axial fan and 50mm radial Blower fan (users should already have these) - 1 X 9/10g Micro servo (the cheapest option will do) like this one https://hobbyking.com/en_us/hobbykingtm-hk15178-analog-servo-1-4kg-0-09sec-10g.html - Servo extension cable like this https://hobbyking.com/en_us/60cm-servo-lead-extention-jr-with-hook-26awg-5pcs-bag.html or make your own - 1 X 12V to 5V DC-DC buck convertor (users may not need this if their servo does not cause a reset when activated) - 1 X micro switch like the one shown in the photo (I salvaged it from a dead mouse's middle wheel button) - Cables and plugs for connecting probe to the RAMPS board (I use AWG24 wire with black connectors, commonly used in PC) - Screws: - 1 M3x35 with nuts for extruder mount - 1 M3x25 with nuts for blower fan - 1 M3x20 Self tapping for blower fan - 1 M2x10 Self tapping as push rod (also see below) - 9 M2.6x8 Self tapping for joining parts to the extruder mount or use glue if you don't have these small screws, I salvaged them from several toy quads - 3mm in length Plastic tubing as push rod spacer (I use a section of PTFE tube and trimmed it to fit the slot on the probe mount) - 1 X aluminum POP rivet @ 1/8", other specs will work, but you need to adjust the part to fit, you might need to trim the length, I have one that is trimmed to 23MM from the tip of the pin to the bottom of the cap and the tip is rounded off using a file During the course of design, I used these CAD models and I want to thank them for their great work. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:999655 https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1077412 https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:341689 https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1897864 https://www.youmagine.com/designs/sunon-30mm-fan-kde1203pfb1-8
