Compact 4 wheel Bondtech carriage with E3D V6 (V-Core)
thingiverse
**Update 26 April 2019 :** I'm entering the final stage and started printing parts for the first production version in my beloved PETG Yellow. I expect to install this carriage in May on my V-Core. *When you plan on using this carriage, please take note that I am using "M3 x 4mm H62 Brass Knurl Nuts" to mount the fans and the carriage parts.* After creating the first version of the Bondtech carriage for V-Core, I was full of ideas to optimize my first version. It took me nearly two months to optimize something that was already optimized by the RatRig team. Especially the GT2 Spanner was a difficult one, but I created a working new version that takes minimal space and is easy to print. I can't take credit for all of the parts I designed for the carriage because somehow/somewhere I got the idea from someone on Thingiverse or other websites. Btw, this carriage is designed for the RatRig V-Core, but it can be used on other CoreXY systems also. So what are the specs of my design: - 4-wheel 3mm gantry 65 x 65 mm - Original Bondtech BMG extruder - E3D V6 kit (I bought the gold edition) - Nema 17 Stepper 25mm (17HS10-0704S) - 2 x 40 mm fans for material cooling - Default 30 mm fan from the E3D V6 kit - It's not a direct "direct drive" but a few cm of tube is needed between extruder and hot end. (This is done to move the stepper above the 2020 extrusion for balance and space) The goal was to create a very compact carriage for my V-Core to get back the cm's of build space I lost from my first design. The depth of the carriage from the 2020 profile to the end of the front fan is 57 mm. The width is 72.5 mm. The depth from the 2020 profile to the nozzle is 42.7. The mount itself is divided into three parts. The top takes the two 40 mm fans for the material cooler, the part below takes the BL-Touch with the 30 mm fan and last but not least the blower mouths. All three parts are tightened together with a M3 screw and bolt, so when you damage a blower mouth it can easily be replaced without having to print replacement pieces for hours. As this is a thing "Under Construction", no STLs or sources are added, but both will be available when finished.
