Commodore VIC-20 cartridge guide

Commodore VIC-20 cartridge guide

This is a cartridge guide for the Commodore VIC-20 and (probably more important) for the VickyTwenty (modern replica board). The cartridge guise is something to miss, when you don't have it. It guides the cartridge into the cartridge connector and also keeps the Power-LED cable out of the way. It is screwed to the board from the under side. This is a bit a critical things. Since the thickness (3mm) cannot be increased significantly, the screws - I have used 2.2mm x 6.5mm (self taping) screws for sheet metal (C 2,2x6,5H, DIN 7981) - could break the guide. I would recommend not to fasten them too much and carefully widen the holes to the nominal diameter (1.8mm) if possible. The first version was improved a bit: 1. the body was widened at the back screws. 2. the front mounting are hooks and don't require screws Still, it is important to set the print parameters for a good layer adhesion. The Eryone Silk Gold filament can be printed between 190°C 220°C. I have printed all layers with 215°C. For the best logo appearance, the supports should set to be "Touching build plate" and Support Pattern should be grid. This way, the support is for the mounting hooks only. Since one prototype tipped over while printing, I print the guide with a brim. The settings are included in the *.3mf file. Check the with of the mounting taps and the mounting hooks and file them. They should be 2.5mm wide. The mounting taps might be too long and require to be filed at the back end. The holes should be carefully widened with a 1.8mm drill bit.
