Commodore SX-64 Plastic Caps

The Commodore SX-64 was a pioneering portable computer boasting a true full color CRT display. Many of these vintage machines still exist today and are cherished by collectors and enthusiasts dedicated to preserving the early days of home computing history. Unfortunately, numerous owners have lost or damaged the protective cap covers that shield the hinge mechanism and cannot find suitable replacements. Fortunately, several SX-64 caps can be found in the Thingiverse library, all utilizing simple primitives and low-resolution geometry to recreate their original design. This version aims to provide a more effective and visually accurate solution by deviating slightly from the exact fitment of the original design while accommodating screw heads and rounded fillets on the corners. To secure the cap covers, I employed 3M VHB tape, which is an exceptionally strong and durable adhesive suitable for sparing use. The Fusion files are also included, allowing users to modify these designs if desired. If you identify areas that can be improved or find alternative solutions, please share your derivative work! These models are free for personal use but cannot be used commercially (a warning to those who exploit eBay print services).
