Commodore KeyCap Mount for Easy Retrobrighting
thingiverse
KeyCap mount for Commodore computers for Retrobrighting. This should be compatible with the Commodore VIC-20, 64, 64C, and 16. I’m currently unsure whether this will work with the Plus-4, but it certainly won’t work with the 128 or Amiga computers. This allows you to mount all KeyCaps in Hydrogen Peroxide liquid for easy Retrobrighting. Just mount your KeyCaps, immerse in the liquid, turn on the UV and wait. It’s a fire-and-forget solution for Retrobrighting your keys that makes life a lot easier. I find that placing the mount in a foil roasting tray (stuck down to the bottom of the tray using double-sided Gorilla tape or similar to prevent the mount floating) works well, as you can see with the before and after images I’ve shared. IMPORTANT NOTE: When mounting the KeyCaps, don’t push them on too tightly as the stems may break when you remove the keys later (leaving them embedded in the key). I’m going to try a different layer height to increase the stem strength.
