Commodore Amiga 3-button Joystick

This is a 3-button joystick designed for my Amiga, with most games supporting only two buttons, but handy for those that do, like ADOOM and similar titles. This modified version retains the basic shape, but shrinks down to fit on my smaller 150mm x 150mm print bed. The bottom section has been entirely reworked to match the top. I'm using small joystick and arcade buttons from Adafruit, which can also be sourced elsewhere. You can find them at https://www.adafruit.com/product/480 and https://www.adafruit.com/product/473. The top lid is secured by M4 x 10 bolts and hex nuts, as in the original design. However, for my build, I used self-tapping screws that work just as well. The cable used is relatively thick, so if you opt for a thinner one, you might need to adjust the hole it passes through or use an alternative method to prevent movement when tugged on. A plastic cable strain relief grommet could also be used to secure the cable. For wiring details, I consulted http://wiki.icomp.de/wiki/DB9-Joystick. Some users may want to wire the third button to simulate joystick up for games that prefer button-based jumping. I added a toggle switch to allow switching between using the third button and having it act as an up button. This design should be adaptable to other systems with minimal modifications, and the link provided shows wiring configurations for various computer and game systems.
