Commodore 1541 Ultimate Enclosure
thingiverse
I recently picked up a vintage first gen 1541 Ultimate cartridge, and I must admit that I was caught off guard by its lack of an attractive enclosure for my Commodore computers. Disappointed with what I found on Thingiverse, I stumbled upon a case that matched the version without the coveted ethernet port. With this glaring omission in mind, I decided to take matters into my own hands and design a new cartridge case to bridge the gap. As I dive into this work-in-progress project, I would love for your keen eye to scan over the design and offer any suggestions or corrections you may come across. For your convenience, the source files are included so that you can make any modifications as needed to tailor it to your unique requirements. Let's work together to perfect this innovative case design. Below are some detailed instructions on how the cartridge case operates: This sturdy case boasts two carefully positioned screw holes that align with the existing mounting points found on the 1541 PCB, ensuring a seamless integration. Additionally, the top cover of the case features an attractive set of extra-long tabs, offering users the flexibility to secure it either by screwing through them or utilizing super glue for a clean, high-quality finish.
