Command Strip Spool Holder
thingiverse
2019.11.07 UPDATE - I started noticing that the command strips were giving way (they seemed to have dried out or possibly reached their limit for holding two 1 kg spools, so I quickly redesigned them to double the mounting surface. I still haven't printed this redesign because I just reattached these brackets with new Command Strips but maybe one day I'll print these. Until then I'll replace the command strips after about 18 months ahead of time. I'm a renter and didn't find any spool holders/racks/brackets that could be mounted with command strips instead of screws, so I designed my own. These are designed to use the medium 3M Command Strips. I've hung about 1.5 kg off just one bracket for a day. I'm using two brackets to hold two 1 kg spools of filament and 20 cm of 8 mm threaded rod. If they turn out to fall or pull off, I'll redesign them to use the large Command Strips. Thanks to AristoDesign whose design was the inspiration for this bracket. 2018.02.20 Update: It's been about a month and one set has been holding an unused 1 kg spool of PETG and a slightly used 0.5 kg spool of PLA. Both spools are mounted with Ansen Slot inserts and 608zz bearings. More impressively, they've held up to my 2-year-old pulling on them and spinning the spools. I suspect the medium Command Strips will be enough for two 1 kg spools.
