Comic Book Wall Mount

I needed a wall hanger that utilized 3M command poster strips or similar products, was quick and easy to print, had a low profile so it wouldn't distract from the comics being displayed, and allowed me to swap out or pull down comics with minimal effort. These two designs I came up with meet those requirements. The regular design is meant to be printed on thin paper with the long side on the 'Z' orientation, allowing for a large number of comics to be packed into a small area (see picture above). The Lite version has always been printed with the "ears" flat on the bed. Both designs are made to use unmodified 3M command poster strips. They can be purchased cheaply in bulk online, but if budget is an issue, I've experimented with other double-sided adhesive products that may require modification to fit the hangers. I have also successfully used a cut-in-half poster strip on my wall hangers without any fall-off issues after hanging loaded comics for three months or more. I have even tried using a single poster strip in the middle of the holder, but I don't recommend it as it tends to go out of level and becomes wobbly if loaded unevenly. Two full poster strips are preferred because they provide easier installation and stability. The "poster" sticky side is applied to the mount, while the "wall" side is stuck to the wall (a straightforward process). I've hung twenty-seven comics on my walls using various holders I've designed and printed, and they've been there for a few months with no fall or drop issues. They lean back far enough that most breezes haven't disturbed them. The hangers in the mid-right/upper-right of the picture are from my first design, which was essentially an equilateral triangle with a hook on it. They functioned well but I wasn't happy with their visual footprint, especially if I had to change colors for additional prints. So I created these updated designs with a much smaller footprint that allows for various color options without impacting the overall look. Additionally, the bracket's tucked-behind design enables closely mounting comics if desired, allowing for more in a smaller area.
