This design has been thoroughly tested and is currently in mass production for worldwide donation efforts. Anyone is free to utilize the design for COVID PPE relief efforts, but please refrain from modifying it or charging for its production outside of material costs. If alterations are necessary, kindly leave a comment and I will do my best to create a new STL file. I designed this shield with comfort in mind, aiming to make something that can be worn for extended periods without discomfort, while minimizing filament usage. The design includes an uplifting slogan "Keep Going" to offer hope to those who need it most. This shield was also created with universal 3D printing in mind and features a geometry that any printer can easily produce on an 8x8'' build plate in no time. My cartesian printer can print this part in just under 50 minutes, using the following settings: 0.4mm nozzle, 0.5mm line width, 0.3mm layer height, and a speed of 75mm/s. Key features include: The geometry was derived from multiple sources and combined for optimal comfort. A negative angle on the shield provides maximum protection while still allowing the use of a mask or respirator. An extra-long band offers increased stability, and a shorter elastic saves material. Two versions of the band are available: one with a hole for an elastic cord and another with a slot for a rubber band. Mylar or lexan can be used for the glass portion, while thicker materials like 0.030 lexan may benefit from anti-vibration computer fan mounts if surplus materials are available.
