Comfort Visor Shield (Europe ISO838)

This Thing is a significantly upgraded version of Erik Cederberg's original Design. The source file can be found at https://www.youmagine.com/designs/protective-visor-by-3dverkstan. Key modifications include enlarged pressure points and areas in contact with the head to improve force distribution and comfort. Additionally, adhesive foam pads can be applied (as shown in pictures) for increased cushioning. The original geometry has been duplicated and scaled down to create a lower frame for the transparent shield (0.3mm thickness). This design was originally intended to be printed without additional materials, but using window seal strips or elastic bands is recommended to prevent slippage of the shield. Both window seal strips and elastic bands can be found in hardware stores or sewing supply shops. For smaller head sizes, it may be necessary to use both for optimal fit. The provided files include .stl files as well as .3mf files (for Cura projects) and a print profile (.curaprofile). The .3mf files are pre-programmed but require disabling the "Automatically Drop Models to Build Plate" function in Cura's preferences menu. Printing with PETG and PLA will take approximately 2 hours each, using conservative settings. Stacking this design may still be possible, but it reduces surface finish and increases material usage, compromising cleanability and durability. The original design was intended for PETG printing, but PLA is more commonly used due to its higher Young's Modulus (elastic modulus), making it stiffer than PETG. To compensate for the increased pressure, a PLA version has been created, with files named accordingly. This modification only affects the upper frame.
