COMET - Captain Future

COMET - Captain Future

thingiverse

Months back I watched a concept art trailer for a Captain Future movie and instantly felt transported straight back into my childhood memories. We used to recreate our heroes' adventures using self-made figures crafted from Lego and Fischertechnik sets. What stuck with me most, though, was the deep desire for a scale model of what seemed like the coolest spacecraft in existence – the COMET – during those times. However, it appeared Santa had no intention of granting my wish. So, I've been waiting patiently until now: Long live the gods who bless us with molten plastic! If you're familiar with the movies, you'll recognize that the characters and craft designs often change significantly, leaving no definitive "COMET" to follow. Lacking access to blueprints, I relied on taking screenshots from the TV series and piecing together the model as best I could, balancing aesthetics with accuracy. Keep in mind that your printer's precision will dictate how well each part fits; sanding may be necessary to achieve a seamless fit. To minimize potential issues, consider printing the model at its intended size – downsizing details may result in lost resolution. Printing without support material was a decision I made, and hopefully, all parts will print correctly oriented for assembly. For optimal stability, I advise stacking parts vertically before gluing them together, ensuring a sturdy structure from front to back. Those interested can check out the original German theme music from Captain Future at this YouTube link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dcjhpETolG0 I hope you appreciate the "COMET" model and feel inspired to create your own – please don't hesitate to share it with me. And, if my contributions bring a smile to your face, I'd love it if you could consider showing your appreciation through a TIP; thank you!
