Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko shape model
thingiverse
This is the derived shape model for comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko, current host to the ESA Rosetta probe. While ESA has not yet released a formal shape model, I was able to create this from the released GIF animation found here: http://www.esa.int/spaceinimages/Images/2014/07/Shape_model_of_comet.\n\nInstructions I downloaded and saved the animated GIF at http://www.esa.int/spaceinimages/Images/2014/07/Shape_model_of_comet, uploaded the animation into NIH ImageJ, saved each frame as a series of JPG images, then imported them to 123DCatch at http://www.123dapp.com/catch. The model is far from perfect as the rotation doesn't showcase certain surfaces well, but it's definitely the proper basic shape, despite its unusualness. ESA or NASA should soon release a formal printable STL file.
With this file you will be able to print Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko shape model with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko shape model.
