Update Rev118 12/20/2019 I made significant updates to improve customizability based on various wheel spacing needs and updated the design accordingly. For Regular V-slot wheels, you can set Wheel_Wid as follows: For 20mm V-slot: Wheel_Wid = 39.7mm For 40mm V-slot: Wheel_Wid = 59.7mm For 60mm V-slot: Wheel_Wid = 79.7mm For 80mm V-slot: Wheel_Wid = 99.7mm For 40mm V-slot (Small Wheels): Wheel_Wid = 51.9mm Please note that this design is not compatible with small V-slot wheels when using 20mm Extrusion, as the required dimension would be 31.9mm, which is below the minimum requirement of 37.0mm. Update Rev99 1/28/2017 While working on a customized version of this Combo Slider Carriage, I identified and resolved several issues in the SliderCarriageCombo_Rev99.STL and .scad files. The primary issue was that I forgot to include the design for the tapered spacers, which are essential for proper alignment. I also realized that the previous design had a significant weight disadvantage due to excessive hardware usage. To address this, I optimized the design by reducing the number of required components while maintaining its functionality. Here's an updated list of necessary hardware: * 6x M3x20mm Socket Head Cap Screws & Locknuts (Rod Screws) * 3x M3x10mm Socket Head Cap Screws & Jam Nut Limit Switch Screw * 3x M3x22mm Socket Head Cap Screws & Jam Nut Wheel Tension Screw * 3x M3x25mm Socket Head Cap Screws & Jam Nut Belt Tension Screw * 9x M5x30mm Button Head Socket Cap Screws for the Wheels To ensure smooth assembly, please note that the female dovetail connection may require slight sanding or filing to achieve a proper fit. It's also crucial to test-fit all parts before installing the hardware. Here is the step-by-step installation process: 1. Add Limit Switch & Belt Tension Screw with Jam Nuts. 2. Install Wheel hardware on one side (M5x30mm Button Head Socket Cap Screw, Tapered Spacer, wheel & locknut). 3. Slide SelfClampSlide Plastic part onto Combo SliderCarriage and add M3x25mm Socket Head Cap Screw & Jam Nut. 4. Add M5x30mm screw & tapered spacer to the single side (not including the wheel or locknut). 5. Place carriage on the vertical 2020, add the third wheel & Locknut, and tighten the wheel tension screw as needed. 6. Mount rods using the 2x M3Locknuts in captive nut holes and tighten them accordingly. 7. Connect the top portion of the belt to SelfClampSlide. 8. Connect the bottom portion of the belt in SelfClampSlide at its lowest point. 9. Tighten the M3x25mm belt tension screw until you achieve 12-16mm of tensioning. If desired, add a wire tie for extra security. This updated Combo Slider Carriage design weighs only 1.79 grams (.063 oz) more than the previous version and offers improved customizability. I have not yet tested this design in actual use but have manually moved the sliders to ensure clearance is not an issue. If you encounter any problems, please let me know so that I can address them.
