Combiner Wars Nosecone Weapons and Articulated Drill Attachment - Transformers
thingiverse
Somewhat infamously, Hasbro's version of Combiner Wars Nosecone, made from the CW Brawl mold, left a fair bit to be desired, and not just because he's made from the weakest of the CW base figures. I am far from the first to work on addressing this and quite possibly not the last. In fact, this set borrows the drill from Perceptors75's drill and cockpit design, distributed under Creative Commons - Attribution - Non-Commercial - Share Alike license, with some adaptions to make it fit flush into the new parts. You can find that set here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4579182 My additions to this figure include an articulated arm that fits snugly under the existing turret and along the gap between the leg details in tank mode, in the "backward" tank configuration. It swivels on a peg and folds up in robot or leg mode. The drill IS rather ponderously huge in robot mode, but it suits the other modes nicely. I considered making some filler pieces for the undersides of the feet, since that's the front of the vehicle now, but honestly the sculpted interior looks like mechanisms to crush rocks, so I decided it was pretty perfect as-is. And of course this is part of my Technobots weapons project! The I decided to change the side "missiles" from having a flat tip like the original toy's, instead tipping them with an boring head, giving him ancillary drills to the side of the main one. The handgun wedges neatly into the weapon mount on what is now the back end, where Brawl's tank barrel would go. It sits at an odd angle, but I like it, and it fills that gap. I made a little photo collage for this one to show someone else what I'd done, since it's a little more than just a couple of guns this time, with my own G1 figure photographed with the CW one for reference. This was designed to use 1.75mm filament as pins. An image illustrating how all the parts go together is included.
