Combined Regolith Drum Main features: - Weight: 5 kg - Material: Aluminium alloy and Titanium alloy for claws - Outer Diameter: 419 mm - Fill ratio: >80% - Length: 360 mm - Maximum total width of scoops engaged at any given time: 50 mm (100 mm both drums) Description: Designers aimed to create a simple, efficient, and easy-to-manufacture drum main. The basis was sheet metal parts that could be watercut and titanium claws. To maximize output torque for claw design and attack, the density of regolith was considered similar to dry soil, which needs shredding first. This regolith drum can be manufactured in two versions: welded and extendable. The extendable version allows attaching drum units as much as output torque permits. The drum has three individual spiral drum units with three scoops each, mounted at 120°. This setup benefits from full output torque. When both drums are installed, the attack width is 100 mm.
