Combined "Nasties" Arrestor and Fan guard for Ender 3
thingiverse
A one-piece, combined fan cover and debris tray sits below the home position, keeping all the crud in one easy-to-empty place. In two weeks with my printer, I've noticed solidified ooze fragments collecting under the home position above the fan. I thought printing a fan cover would take care of this issue, but it didn't retain the crud for disposal, and much of it ends up in the slots to the left of the motherboard box. This is a real pain to get out without using a vacuum! I designed this on an old Sketch Up 8, then hunted down a working stl file for Cura. This design doesn't require any fixings since it stays put under its own weight. However, experience shows that four small rare-earth type magnets can prevent it from sliding around. These magnets are cheap to buy on eBay and others. I attached them to the top using cyanoacrylate. ------------------- Update: I created a version 3 with pockets on the underside for 10mm X 1 mm magnets. This was printed by Thingivers user "kokein". Unfortunately, despite being usable, the distance between the top of the magnets and the bottom of the tray is too close, causing printing issues. Because of this, I have temporarily withdrawn V3 to adjust the files.
