In the heart of Madrid's Plaza del Rey stands a majestic baroque column from the 17th century, accompanied by four identical pillars, installed in this iconic space in 1957 under the expert guidance of Chueca Goitia and Domínguez Salazar as part of their ambitious urban reform. These columns originated from the long-lost Palacio del Marqués de La Laguna, a magnificent structure erected in 1622 by Juan Gómez de Mora.
