Column with lions

Column with lions

myminifactory

A fragment from a marble column has been reworked in medieval times to feature four lions prominently displayed. This relic was discovered in the churchyard of Santa Maria di Peraga, located within the province of Padua. The church itself was owned by the patriarch of Aquileia, which strongly suggests that this artifact originates from Aquileise culture. During Antiquity, Aquileia stood out as one of the world's largest cities, boasting a population of 100,000 in the 2nd century AD.
