Column Wave

Column Wave

This is a recreation of an old stage effect dating back to at least the mid 1500s, as seen on Wikipedia's Column Wave page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Column_wave). Initially created as a desk toy, similar to a conversation grinder, the effect can be viewed by looking down its side. The waves are arranged in order based on how many times they rotate and turned using a crank. You will need eight M3 screws to attach the wave columns to the frame, as well as six bearings (623 Z 3x10x4 mm) from RepRap (623ZZ Ball Bearings 623Z), ensuring they turn smoothly. I would like to express gratitude to the Museum of Jurassic Technology (http://www.mjt.org/), where I first witnessed this effect in an exhibit. Additionally, I appreciate the contributions made by GearGenerator.Com, which enabled me to add gears to this project.
